Cause for celebration...!

So I'm so excited that I actually have to post first thing...I broke 170! Scale says 169 today! On my way...this is a good thing because after two days of eating zone perfect (bland only because I'm lazy and stick with what's easy and I know) I was daydreaming of having something bad today. But, the rapid progress is motivating me to stay the course. Obviously I'm not going to keep a pound a day pace but I bet I will be able to reach my goal by April! I am also motivated by how much better I feel in general eating well. Not as tired, more energy, a clearer head :)
Ate a zone perfect breakfast already so planning on having a perfect day!

good but not "perfect"

So I will only consider a day perfect if I have actually weighed all my food and done no "guess work" or "eyeballing" these methods work too so I consider them to be good but only the scale (food scale) and calculator earn a "perfect" score in my book. Today was good. I weighed my food about half the time and did some "on the fly" calculations the other half of the time but still ate very zone perfect style meals...no sugar, no white stuff, and everything is balanced by the perfect carb, protien and fat (although not so much worried about the fat at this point) content. I am also pretty sure that I am at about 13 "blocks" which is my goal for each day, no more, no less. I did do my treadmill and a good hike with the boys today so I'm very happy overall...I even FEEL smaller today (like, there's a little room between my butt and the absolute stretching point of my jeans...lol). So, 2/2 on my way to 14/14 zone perfect days. The problem comes in; I want to have a date night with my hubby before 2 weeks is up but don't trust my will power on an "outing" quite yet...well, I'll have to make it work one way or another, we need some alone time :)

Perfect DAY!

Today was an awsome day! I ate exactly what I planned, no more, no less and it was all "Zone Perfect". I feel great and even played tennis for an hour tonight and worked up a decent sweat. I burned some good calories earlier today clearing some branches and hauling them to the burn pile (down the hill, meaning I had to trek back up the hill/ mountain); then I raced the boys back home :) My weight this morning was 170.5....now all I need is to continue to make this a habit, what do they say? 14 days to make or break a habit? I am planning on two weeks no cheat days for just that reason, they are by far the hardest and so I want to get them under my belt before I go tempting myself with any "bad" food.

Picking up where I left off...kinda

My most recent motivation....a picture taken at Great Wolf Lodge last week, yikes!

So three some plus months later I'm back with another post. The last few months have been full of challenges; moving, adjusting to new baby and did I mention moving? Well, we always have an excuse right? So, I am essentially starting fresh from today and continuing on my weight loss journey. I have made little progress from my last post and so I am essentially just picking up where I left off and trying to re motivate myself that I CAN and WILL do this. My weight today is 171.5 I have already had a South Beach Living bar for breakfast and am enjoying my morning cup of joe.
Breakfast is really the hardest thing for me; well, actually the beginning and the end of the days are hard...I am not hungry and do not want to have breakfast in the morning (very bad) and then by the end of the day when I have a chance to unwind I realize that I haven't eaten much or I've eaten really good so I blow it on a bowl of ice cream or a frozen pizza. This brings me back to the point that I'm really all or nothing. I have to do this and plan it out or there will be too many opportunities to fail. So, I am back to some tried and trues....weighing my food (portions) and taking supplements. I know I had said that I was going to try to do it without them originally but I really feel like if they are used correctly and not abused for short periods of time they can help give you (well, me) the extra push I need to get this giant ball rolling uphill. I have used them in the past (I'm talking diet pills designed to curb your appetite and give you energy) and they really help with the energy part. My workouts are far more intense which only means that I'm burning that many more calories. Now a couple disclaimers; I would never advise anyone taking anything without talking to their doctor and doing their own research as to the potential side effects. Also, I have finished nursing my baby; he's on formula only now.

My goal is to be at 154lbs by our trip to Arizona in April and then finish with the last 10lbs by July (Gage's birthday). My exercise is sparse at this point but I am playing tennis 2-3 times a week and will be adding weights 2-3 times a week with a daily 20 minute treadmill workout goal. I am also far more active out here on the farm so I figure that will help (I hauled wood yesterday that put my treadmill workout to shame, also been walking with my baby @ 20lbs attached to my body over several miles/ acres on a huge hill daily).

Stay tuned and thanks for your support....oh and Mom, I know you think I'm crazy for posting my weight on here but it helps me stay accountable and motivate me to weigh less by the next time I see any of you.... :)
